About this sightseeing flight
The route starts with a pass over the centre of Amsterdam itself: the canal ring, the IJ and the historic old town. From there we head to the Zaanse Schans, with its characteristic row of windmills along the river Zaan, one of the most recognisable images of the Netherlands.
Then on to Waterland, where villages such as Marken, Volendam and Monnickendam still breathe the atmosphere of the old Zuiderzee, with dykes, small harbours and the Markermeer as a backdrop. The route closes at Naarden Vesting, one of the best preserved star-shaped fortress towns in Europe, which looks particularly striking from the air thanks to the precise geometry of its moats and bastions.
